POCO M3 teased in India, launch seems imminent

In Q4 2020, POCO held a global event to announce the POCO M3 smartphone for European markets. Recently, the company unveiled the smartphone in Asian markets like Indonesia and Taiwan. In the recent weeks, the Indian version of the POCO M3 (M2010J19CI) model number) was spotted at certification platforms like the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and TUV Rheinland, which indicated that it could be arriving soon in India.

Finally, POCO India has rolled out a teaser video to confirm the arrival of POCO M3 in India. As the moniker suggests, the POCO M3 will be succeeding the POCO M2 phone that went official back in September 2020.

POCO India has released a teaser video of the POCO M3 through its YouTube channel. In the video, the smartphone is shown in three colors like black, blue, and yellow. The device can be seen with a unique camera module for its triple camera. The entire video tries to convey that the smartphone will offer impressive gaming performance.

POCO M3 specifications and features

The POCO M3 has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a 19:5 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 662 mobile platform powers the device with 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 / UFS 2.2 storage.

The POCO M3 has a front-facing 8-megapixel camera and a triple camera system that comprises a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The 6,000mAh battery of the POCO M3 carries support for 18W fast charging. Other features of the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint reader and reverse charging.

POCO M3 India launch date and price

Recently, reliable tipster Mukul Sharma tweeted that the POCO M3 will be announced in February. Unfortunately, the exact launch date of the smartphone is not known yet. The POCO M3 variants such as 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage (UFS 2.1) and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (UFS 2.2) were priced at $129 (~Rs 9,400) and $149 (~Rs 10,900) in Europe. In India, the handset may carry a starting price of Rs 9,999.
