POCO M3 with Snapdragon 662 and 6,000mAh battery launched: price, specifications

POCO introduced its M-series by announcing the POCO M2 Pro in July in India. Later in September, the company announced the POCO M2 as a toned-down version. Today, the brand held a global launch event to unveil the POCO M3 as the successor to the POCO M2.

The POCO M3 has a distinctive rear panel design that distinguishes it from other phones in the same price range. The anti-fingerprint textured rear features an elongated black camera module that houses 48-megapixel triple cameras and an LED flash towards the left, and large POCO branding on the right. The POCO M3 also offers ample internal storage and a large battery with fast charging support.

The POCO M3 has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass protection. The display offers full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,430 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and HDR support. The Widevine L1 certified display will allow users to stream content in HD from OTT platforms. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.34 percent. The handset runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

The Snapdragon 662 mobile platform is at the helm of the POCO M3. The base model of the M3 has 4GB of LPPDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The higher-end model offers 4GB of LPPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There is a microSD card onboard for additional expansion.

The POCO M3 has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. At the rear, the M3 has a 48-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with a focal length of 4cm, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens. The rear camera support photography features such as night mode, time-lapse photography, color-focus, and movie frame. The phone is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery that promises 2½ days of usage. It supports 18W fast charger and reverse charging. The other specs of the device include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR blaster, USB-C, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

POCO M3 pricing and availability

The 4GB and 6GB variants of the POCO M3 are priced at $149(~Rs 11,000) and $169 (~Rs 12,500), respectively. The phone comes in Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow colours. It will be available for purchase during the Black Friday starting from November 27th. Both models will be available at discounted price tags of $129 (~Rs 9,600) and $149 (~Rs 11,000) during the Black Friday 2020 sale. At present, there is no information available on when the POCO M3 will be landing in India.
