After re-entering the smartphone market as an independent identity in 2020, POCO launched a wide range of phones across different price points. The POCO C3 and POCO M2 are the most affordable smartphones from the company so far. Today, POCO India announced a permanent price cut for both smartphones.
The POCO M2 has received a price cut of up to Rs 1,500, whereas the POCO C3’s price has been reduced by Rs 500. These budget phones are equipped with tall aspect ratio displays, gaming-centric chipsets, large-sized batteries, and decent cameras.
POCO M2 and POCO C3 price in India
POCO announced the POCO M2 back in September 2020 with a price tag of Rs 10,999 for its 6GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant and Rs 12,499 pricing for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. As confirmed by POCO India, the base model is now available for Rs 9,999 after a price reduction of Rs 1,000. On the other hand, the higher variant can be now purchased for Rs 10,999 as it has received a price cut of Rs 1,500. The phone can be purchased through Flipkart in colours like Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red.
The POCO C3 (review) debuted in October in two options such as 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. They were priced at Rs 7,499 and Rs 8,999, respectively. While the base model of the POCO C3 continues to sell at the same price, the higher-end edition can be bought for Rs 8,499 after a price cut of Rs 500. The C3 comes in Arctic Blue, Lime Green, and Matte Black hues.
POCO M2 and POCO C3 specifications and features
The POCO M2 and C3 are equipped with 6.53-inch IPS LCD displays with a waterdrop notch. The M2 supports Full HD+ resolution, whereas the C3 supports HD+ resolution. These phones are powered by Helio G80 and Helio G35 chipsets, respectively. Both smartphones are backed by 5,000mAh batteries. The M2 comes with support for 18W fast charging, while the C3 gets only 10W charging support.
The POCO M2 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, At the rear, it features a 13-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the POCO C3 sports a 5-megapixel camera and its rear-facing triple camera system comprises a 13-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
POCO M3 India launch could be imminent
In November, the POCO M3 smartphone was announced for global markets. The Indian variant of the POCO M3 was spotted at TUV Rheinland certification and in the Gouge Supported Devices list. With the POCO M2 receiving a permanent price cut, the company could be gearing up to launch the POCO M3 soon in India.
