The POCO M3 Pro 5G launch date has been set for India. It will be launching on June 8th as India’s first 5G-enabled M-series phone from the brand. The M3 Pro will be an advanced version of the POCO M3 (review), which launched in February in India.
The specifications of the POCO M3 Pro 5G are already known since it had launched in global markets last month. The handset is powered by the Dimensity 700 chipset, which also powers the Realme 8 5G and OPPO A53s 5G budget phones in India.

POCO India had reportedly planned to launch the POCO M3 Pro 5G in May in India. However, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases across the country, it did not hold any launch event in the country. Today, the company confirmed that after launching the POCO M3 Pro 5G on June 8th in India, it will be available for purchase through Flipkart.
POCO M3 Pro 5G specifications and price
The POCO M3 Pro 5G has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole display. It sports Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 700 SoC is present under the hood of the phone and it comes with up to 6GB of RAM. It offers up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and a dedicated microSD card slot.
The M3 Pro 5G has a front camera of 8-megapixel and its back panel of has a 48-megapixel + 2-megaixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit housed inside a uniquely designed module. The phone ships with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 and it features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Other features that are available on the device include dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, IR blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
In Europe, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants of the POCO M3 Pro 5G are priced at €179 (~Rs 15,950) and €199 (~Rs 17,750). Currently, the Realme 8 5G, which is priced at Rs 13,999, is the most affordable 5G phone in India. It is likely the POCO M3 Pro 5G may dethrone the Realme 8 5G to become India’s cheapest 5G smartphone.
