POCO X2 6GB and 8GB RAM variants appear on Geekbench

The POCO X2 is set to launch on February 4th in India. There has been plenty of evidence to support the claim that the X2 is a rebrandes Xiaomi Redmi K30 4G, that was announced in China last month. A recent report revealed that the POCO X2 model with 6GB of RAM could be priced at Rs 18,999. Now, both the 6GB and 8GB RAM editions of the POCO X2 been spotted on Geekbench. This indicates that the POCO X2 will be launched in at least two variants in India.

This is not the first time that the 8GB RAM variant of the POCO X2 has appeared on Geekbench. In fact, one of the first clues about the existence of the POCO X2 was when the handset was benchmarked on Geekbench earlier this month. At first, some felt that it could be a fake listing. The listing had revealed that the device that was codenamed ‘phoenixin’ featured Android 10, 8GB of RAM and an octa-core processor clocked at 1.80GHz. POCO India later confirmed that its first phone for 2020 would indeed be called POCO X2.

Compared to the previous Geekbench listing, the new listing of the 8GB RAM variant carries the Xiaomi POCO X2 moniker along with the ‘phoenixin’ codename. The 6GB RAM variant of the POCO X2 also runs Android 10 and is fueled by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor. It scored 547 in the single-core test and 1,757 in the multi-core test. On the other hand, the 8GB RAM variant scored 549 and 1,771 in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively. While the name of the processor is not clearly mentioned on Geekbench, various reports have revealed that the POCO X2 is powered by the Snapdragon 730G.

So far, POCO has revealed that the POCO X2 will be coming with 120Hz refresh rate display, liquid cooling technology, 27W fast charging, side-mounted fingerprint reader, bottom-firing speaker, USB-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. The company has also hinted that the POCO X2 is equipped with a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel camera.

A recent report also revealed that the phone will look exactly like the Redmi K30 4G. Other leaked specs include a 6.67-inch 120Hz display, 64-megapixel quad camera setup, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is a possibility that the 8GB RAM variant of the POCO X2 may arrive with 128GB of storage.

Considering that the POCO X2 is a rebranded Redmi K30 4G, it could be coming with a 20MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the front, a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad camera system on the rear and a 4,500mAh battery.
