POCO X2 with 120Hz display and Snapdragon 730G launched in India, prices start at Rs 15,999

After teasing the POCO X2’s arrival for the past few weeks, POCO India has finally unveiled the device today. The POCO X2 is not a flagship phone like the POCO F1 from 2018. Instead, it is a mid-range phone that comes with key features including a 120Hz refresh rate, a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel camera and dual punch hole cameras. As speculated, the POCO X2 is a rebranded Redmi K30 4G for India.

POCO X2 specifications and features

The POCO X2 boasts an IPS LCD display measuring 6.67 inches. It features a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The 120Hz refresh rate screen dubbed as “Reality Flow” offers a smoother experience when it comes to scrolling and playing supported games. The other features of the POCO X2’s display include HDR10 support, anti-fingerprint coating and TUV Rheinland blue light filter certification. There is an elliptical punch-hole placed at the top-right corner which houses a 20-megpaixel main shooter and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for adding bokeh effects to selfie shots. The display of the phone is shielded by Gorilla Glass 5. The device is P2i rated for splash-resistance.

The rear panel of the phone is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The quad camera system is placed vertically inside a circular module. The primary camera is a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel sensor with f/1.89 aperture. It is coupled with a 120-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a 2-megapixel dedicated macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The quad cameras offer features as dual LED flash, RAW capture, 10x digital zoom, AI scene recognition, Vlog mode, 4K video recording, 1080p wide-angle video footage and 960fps slow motion video recording. The front cameras offer features like gesture camera, display flash, AI portrait mode and 1080p video recording at 30fps.

MIUI 11 atop Android 10 comes preloaded on the POCO X2. For gamers, the handset offers Game Turbo 2.0 that brings various gaming related enhancements like GPU and CPU allocation for enhanced gaming, 4D vibration and more. The liquid cooling technology can bring down the internal temperature by up to 7-degrees Celsius.

The Snapdragon 730G which powers phones like the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Realme X2 is present under the hood of the POCO X2. The SoC is coupled with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. A hybrid dual SIM slot is available on the POCO X2 for additional storage. The phone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging. A fast charger is included in the box.

Other features include side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual 4G VoLTE, VoWiFi, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, Hi-Res Audio, super linear speaker with Smart PA loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone slot.

POCO X2 price and availability

The POCO X2 comes in three editions such as 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. These models are priced at Rs 15,999, Rs 16,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively. The device will be available in three colour variants – Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple and Phoenix Red. It will go on sale starting February 11th at 12pm via Flipkart. ICICI debit and credit card users can avail of an instant Rs 1,000 discount on purchase.
