POCO X3 NFC with Snapdragon 732G and 64MP quad cameras launched: price, specifications

The POCO F1 that was launched back in 2018 was the cheapest flagship phone that year. However, the POCO brand went into hibernation in 2019, and was resurrected as a separate brand from Xiaomi in February this year with the launch of the POCO X2 mid-ranger. Today, the company announced its successor in the form of the POCO X3 NFC.

The POCO X2 was a rebadged version of the Redmi K30 4G that went official in December 2019 in China. However, the POCO X3 NFC is an entirely new phone with a 120Hz display and enhanced internals. It is the world’s smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 732G chipset that went official at the beginning of September.

The POCO X3 NFC has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with full HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display supports HDR10, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It features a punch-hole cutout at top-centre for the selfie camera.

The POCO X3 NFC sports an all-new design for the back panel and camera module. A thick textured strip can be seen running across the glass rear panel of the device. The quad-camera module comprises a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary lens, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 119-degree field-of-view, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with 2cm focal length. The POCO X3 NFC has a 20-megapixel front camera.

The Snapdragon 732G octa-core processor fuels the POCO X3 NFC. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The phone houses a massive battery of 5,160mAh capacity and it carries for 33W fast charging technology. The company claims that it takes 65 minutes to completely charge the device. The mid-range phone features liquid cooling technology that effectively reduces the internal temperature by up to 6-degree Celsius while carrying out hardware-intensive tasks like gaming.

The phone runs MIUI 12 with the POCO Launcher atop Android 10. The company has claimed it will provide three years of system updates for the POCO X3 NFC. It also claimed that the kernel sources of the POCO X3 NFC will be available at launch. The device is equipped with other features like dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, USB-C, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Lastly, the phone comes with IP53 rated splash-resistance.

POCO X3 pricing and availability

The POCO X3 has arrived in global markets in variants such as 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. These models are priced at €229 (~Rs 19,900) and €269 (~Rs 23,400), respectively.

The POCO X3 NFC will be available for early-bird purchasers in Europe from September 8th to September 11th. During this period, the 64GB and 128GB variants will be available for €199 (~Rs 17,300) and €249 euros (~Rs 21,600), respectively. The phone comes in two colour options, Shadow Gray and Cobalt Blue.
