Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G has been launched. It arrives as the successor and replacement to the Snapdragon 778G+ that was introduced last year. The newest chipset packs incremental upgrades over its predecessor.
Qualcomm announced its flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor earlier this month. The latest Snapdragon 782G is expected to power mid-range smartphones. Read on to know the technical specifications of the processor.
Snapdragon 782G specifications and features
The Snapdragon 782G processor is based on a 6nm process with 8-core CPUs similar to the Snapdragon 778G+. The setup consists of one Kryo 670 Prime core clocked at 2.7GHz, three Kryo 670 Gold cores at 2.2GHz, and four Kryo 670 Silver ticking at 1.9GHz. The CPU is paired with Adreno 642L GPU onboard. The Snapdragon 782G is said to offer a 5 percent faster CPU and 10 percent faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor.
The Snapdragon 782G supports FHD+ resolution at a 144Hz refresh rate. It is capable of supporting up to 200MP camera resolution with Qualcomm Spectra triple 4-bit ISP. The chipset features Quick Charge 4+, which is said to top up the battery to 50 percent in 15 minutes. The SoC also packs support for up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM technology. The Snapdragon 782G is equipped with an integrated Snapdragon X53 modem with sub-6GHz and mmWave support. The FastConnect 6700 supports WiFi 6 and integrated Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity
Qualcomm hasn’t revealed which phone will be the first to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 782G, but it is expected to be the Honor 80.
