Smartphone manufacturer OPPO’s partnership with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is well documented, with Kapoor previously participating in the company’s launch events and other promotional activities. We came across a video over the weekend showing the actor throwing away a supposed fan’s smartphone after requesting a selfie. It has now come to light that this was merely a promotional stunt carried out by the OPPO’s team for the upcoming Reno 8T 5G.
Fortunately, we know quite a bit about the phone already, including its hardware specifications and pricing. So all that’s left now is for the OPPO Reno 8T to be launched in the country. Considering that the manufacturer is already preparing promotional materials for the upcoming phone, it’s safe to assume that the device’s arrival isn’t far away.

OPPO Reno 8T rumoured specs
Based on a myriad of leaks we’ve encountered so far, the Reno 8T should be packing a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen backed by a 120Hz refresh rate. MediaTek’s Helio G99 SoC is expected to power the 4G model of the Reno 8T, whereas the 5G variant should be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. Meanwhile, both variants should feature up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The rear camera setup is quite modest compared to some of its industry rivals, comprising just two sensors. However, one of them will be a large 108-megapixel unit, and the other will be a standard 2-megapixel depth sensor. OPPO will include a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
Customers can expect a 5,000mAh battery underneath, complemented by 67W fast charging (wired). On the software front, the Reno 8T should feature ColorOS 13, which is based on the latest Android 13 operating system.
OPPO Reno 8T launch date and rumoured pricing
OPPO has confirmed that the Reno 8T will be unveiled in India on February 3. But it’s unclear if sales will commence on the same day or later. As for the pricing, leaks tell us that the Reno 8T could cost between Rs 29,000 and Rs 30,000. The manufacturer may also provide a free pair of OPPO Enco Buds2 for customers who pre-order the Reno 8T.
