At an event held today, Realme has launched its much anticipated smartphone in India, the Realme 2 Pro. The company had announced the Realme 2 Pro at the launch of Realme 2 in August 2018. With the ‘Pro’ tag, the device comes with upgraded specifications, design and also pricing. Let’s find out the technical specifications of the device:
Display and Design:
The Realme 2 Pro sports a waterdrop notch as seen on the Vivo V11 Pro and Oppo F9 Pro. The company is calling it the ‘Dewdrop’ notch instead. The device features a large 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with narrow bezels. Corning Gorilla Glass is fitted on the top for protection against accidental damage and scratches. The back panel of the device ditches the signature diamond-cut back pattern in favour of a glass design. The smartphone is available in three color variants i.e. Ice lake, Blue Ocean, Black Sea
On the optics front, the Realme 2 Pro features a 16MP+2MP dual rear camera setup. It features a Sony IMX398 sensor with f/1.7. A 16MP shooter is fitted on the front for selfies and video calling purposes. The camera comes with AI-powered features like intelligent-scene detection, portrait mode and more. The front camera also doubles up as a face unlock feature for additional security.
Hardware & OS:
Under the hood, the Realme 2 Pro houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset backed by AI capabilities. The device is available in three RAM and memory configurations i.e. 4GB and 64GB, 6GB and 64GB, 8GB and 128GB. The storage can be expanded with the dedicated microSD card slot provided. There is a Adreno 512 GPU onboard. The Realme 2 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS with Oppo’s proprietary ColorOS skinned on the top.
Battery & Connectivity:
The Realme 2 Pro runs on a 3,500 mAh battery unit that is slightly smaller than the one on the Realme 2. As for connectivity, the device offers Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and GLONASS. The phone also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Alongside the launch of Realme 2 Pro, the company has also launched Realme C1. It is aimed at budget buyers. The device features a large 6.2-inch regular notch screen and comes in a unibody glossy design. It is powered by a Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB internal memory. The Realme C1 has dual rear camera comprising of 13MP+2MP sensors and a 5MP front snapper. It features AI facial unlock that compensates for the missing physical fingerprint scanner. The device draws its power from a 4,230 mAh battery unit.
Pricing & Availability:
The Realme 2 Pro will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting October 11. The price of the 4GB+64GB variant is Rs. 13,990 and the 6GB+64GB variant costs Rs 15,990. The higher variant of 8GB+128GB retails at Rs 17,990.
As for the Realme C1, it is priced at Rs 6,999 and will go on sale from October 11.
