Realme 2 Image Leaked Ahead Of Announcement, Hints At A Notch Display & Dual Rear Cameras

In May 2018, the Realme 1 debuted in the Indian market under the parent smartphone maker Oppo. Now the new sub-brand has teased the launch of its successor dubbed as the Realme 2. An image of the upcoming smartphone with a tagline “A notch above” has been leaked on the company’s website. The leaked image of the device has now been taken down.

The teaser gives a glimpse of the phone with a notch on the top of display. It doesn’t sound surprising considering every Android OEM is adopting this trend. The back panel of the phone has the same signature diamond cut back design that we saw on Realme 1. It also looks like the Realme 2 comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor that was missing on the Realme 1. Another upgrade is in the camera department. The device will be equipped with horizontally placed dual rear camera setup.

Apart from the design elements, no specifications and features of this device have been revealed yet. Details about the pricing and availability are also unknown. But we can expect the Realme 2 launch in coming weeks.

As for Realme 1, the device was launched in May 2018. The device sports a 6-inch FHD bezel-less display. It featured a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter. Under the hood, the phone is equipped with MediaTek Helio P60 processor and comes in three RAM & storage variants i.e.3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. The Realme 1 draws its power from a 3,410 mAh battery unit and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box. For the lower variant, the device costs Rs 8,999 and goes up to 13,990 for the higher variant.

Going by the design changes, we expect the Realme 2 with upgraded specifications as well. One can assume that the phone will be priced competitively in India and perhaps closer close to Realme 1. We will update you when the device is launched. Till then stay connected on our Blog, Facebook page & Twitter handle.
