Realme 3 Gets Certified by NBTC in Thailand, May Launch Soon

Realme is set to unveil a variant of its entry-level C1 smartphone in India with more storage later today. While the Realme C1 variant will not be an all-new device, the company is expected to launch its first 2019 smartphone very soon. The NBTC certification agency in Thailand has certified an upcoming Realme smartphone with the model number RMX1821. It was also certified by Singapore’s IMDA certification agency in November last year.

Realme 3 Going Official Soon?

The NBTC certification confirms the RMX1821 will be marketed as the Realme 3. While the name may suggest it could be a successor to the Realme 2, we cannot be completely sure. However, the NBTC certification certainly suggests the handset will be officially announced by Realme very soon. Similar to the previous smartphones launched by the company so far, we can expect the Realme 3 to debut in India before making its way to other markets. Previous reports have claimed the Realme 3 will arrive sometime during the first quarter of the year.

Realme was rumored to be working on a smartphone with a 48MP resolution rear camera but the company’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, recently denied the existence of any such device. The Realme 3 is likely to be powered by the same MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor as the Realme U1. Apart from a powerful mid-range processor, the Realme 3 is expected to feature a large Dewdrop notch display with Full HD+ resolution and a very high screen-to-body ratio. We can also expect to see an impressive AI-powered dual-camera setup on the back and an AI-powered selfie snapper on the front. In terms of software, the Realme 3 will be running on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. However, it remains to be seen if the handset will debut with OPPO’s new ColorOS 6.0 version. Realme has promised that it will roll out the ColorOS 6.0 update to at least some of its 2018 models sometime later this year.
