At an event held in New Delhi today, Realme has launched the Pro variant of the Realme 3 launched last month. The company had already announced that it would launch the Pro variant of the device in April. As the name implies the former is an upgraded version of the Realme 3 and the successor of the Realme 2 Pro. Let’s take a detailed look at the technical specifications:
Display & Design:
The Realme 3 Pro sports a 6.3-inch display bearing a full HD+ resolution, compared to HD+ resolution on the standard variant. The device features a dewdrop notch on the top that houses the selfie camera. The display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top and 2.5D glass for enhanced user experience. In terms of design, the Realme 3 Pro flaunts a gradient back panel with S-shaped speedway pattern that’s inspired by Le Mans circuit. It comprises of a vertical camera setup and a conventional fingerprint scanner. The Realme 3 Pro can be availed in three colour options – Carbon Gray, Nitro Blue, and Lightning Purple.
In the photography department, the Realme 3 Pro is equipped with a dual camera setup comprising of 16MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture accompanied by an f/2.4 5MP secondary sensor. The primary camera is backed by Sony IMX519 sensor for superior photos. The device is capable of producing 64MP images using a new mode called Ultra HD. The result is achieved by a pixel binning technique where four 16MP images are stitched together to produce a 64MP photo. On the front, the Realme 3 Pro features a 25MP snapper with f/2.0 for clicking selfies.
The smartphone comes with various modes like burst shot, nightscape, chroma boost, portrait mode, and HDR. The Realme 3 Pro offers 960 fps/720p super slow motion video recording.
Hardware, OS & Battery:
Under the hood, the Realme 3 Pro houses a Snapdragon 710 AIE processor clocked at 2.2GHz compared to the standard version which uses a MediaTek SoC. The chipset is paired with an Adreno 616 GPU onboard. The device is available in two RAM and storage configurations of 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. All the variants support a dedicated microSD card slot up to 256GB for additional storage needs. The Realme 3 Pro is the first budget smartphone to come with support for the popular battle royale game, Fortnite. The device also features Hyperboost 2.0 and Gameboost 2.0 for an improved gaming experience.
On the software front, the Realme 3 Pro runs on the latest Android Pie with custom ColorOS 6 skinned on the top. The smartphone is powered by a 4,045mAh battery unit with support for OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The company claims that the Realme 3 Pro is capable of delivering 5 hours of talk time in just 10 minutes of charging. The device ships with a bundled 20W charger in the box.
Pricing & Availability:
Realme has priced the base variant of the Realme 3 Pro at Rs 13,999. The 6GB+64GB model carries a price tag of Rs 16,999. The smartphone will be available for purchase on Flipkart and Realme.com with sales commencing from April 29th at 12pm. As a part of the launch offer, HDFC bank card users can avail flat Rs 1,000 off. Jio users are eligible for benefits worth Rs 5,300. The Realme 3 Pro will be available soon in offline stores as well.
