Realme 5 Pro receives Rs 1,000 price cut, Realme 6 series launch seems imminent

Back in August last year, Realme had launched the Realme 5 series. The lineup consists of three devices i.e. the standard Realme 5, Realme 5s and Realme 5 Pro. Earlier this month, the brand added the Realme 5i to the lineup. Now Realme has permanently slashed the prices of the Realme 5 Pro. All three variants have received a price cut of Rs 1,000 and the revised prices are reflected on Flipkart and The price cut also hints at the imminent launch of the Realme 6 series in the coming months. 

The Realme 5 Pro has received a price cut across all variants

After the price cut, the base 4GB + 64GB variant of Realme 5 Pro retails at Rs 12,999 instead of Rs 13,999. The 6GB + 64GB variant is available at Rs 13,999 compared to Rs 14,999. The price of the 8GB + 128GB model is down to Rs 15,999 from Rs 16,999. 

Realme 5 Pro specifications:

The Realme 5 Pro was the first smartphone to debut with quad-cameras under Rs 15,000. The setup consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP super macro sensor and a 2MP portrait lens. On the front, the device is fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper. The Realme 5 Pro features a 6.3-inch display bearing FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. The device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and is available in Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue colours. 

The Realme 5 Pro houses the Snapdragon 712 processor under the hood. It packs up to 8GB RAM and offers up to 12GB onboard storage with a microSD card for additional storage. The device draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 charging and runs on Android 9 Pie OS. 

Realme 6 

In other news, the Realme 6i was recently certified by BIS in India, SIRIN in Malaysia, and NBTC in Thailand. The device has also been spotted on Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority known as IMDA. The smartphone carries a model number Realme RMX2040. 

Apart from the Realme 6i, two unknown phones with the model number RMX2063 and RMX2001 had bagged FCC certification. The identity of the two model numbers is currently under wraps, but the devices are rumored to be the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro.
