Realme 5, Realme 5s and Realme 5i now receiving Android 10 update with Realme UI

Realme had launched the Realme 5 (review) and Realme 5s in August and November respectively last year. The smartphone brand had added another device dubbed as the Realme 5i to its lineup in January this year. Now, Realme has officially started rolling out the Android 10-based Realme UI updates to the above three devices in India.

The company announced the news on its official forum post. To recall, the smartphones were launched with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie. The latest Android 10 update is being rolled out in batches and it may take time to reach your unit. Realme also claims that there will be a wider rollout in a few days if there are no critical bugs in the OS. 

Realme 5, 5s and 5i get the Android 10 update

All three smartphones are getting the Realme UI-based Android 10 update

The Android 10 update version number for the Realme 5 and 5s is RMX1911_EX_11_C.39, while the Realme 5i has the version number RMX2030_EX_11.C.45. The update brings a lot of new features and improvements to the three smartphones. 

In terms of visuals, the update brings a new Real Design interface that is claimed to be more attractive and efficient. There is a new smart sidebar that lets users quickly access apps, start multi-window sessions and improved one-hand operation. Users can now take a screenshot with optimised three-finger gesture.

The latest Android 10 update also brings system improvements like added focus mode, built-in ringtones, pause feature for screen recording and new charging animation. The Game Space visual interaction and loading animation have also been optimised. 

Realme has also added new live and artistic wallpapers and the option to customise the shape, size and style of app icons on the homescreen. The latest update brings a random MAC address generator to avoid targeted ads and protect privacy when the phone is connected to a WiFi system. The camera UI has also been optimised for better user experience. The Realme Share feature now supports sharing files with OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi devices. The Android 10 update also introduces a VoWiFi feature for Jio and Airtel networks. 

To recall, the Android 10 update for the Realme 5 Pro was rolled out in March this year with version number RMX1971_EX_11_C.01.
