Realme 5 series with quad rear cameras launching in India on August 20th

Earlier this year, Realme had launched the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro smartphones in India. Recently, the company had revealed that it will be launching three Realme phones with quad rear cameras. While there is no official confirmation on the names of those three smartphones, the rumor mill is speculating that it could be Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro and Realme X Pro smartphones. Now, a new microsite for the Realme 5 series has appeared on Flipkart. It reveals that the Realme 5 series will be made official on August 20th.

The microsite confirms that the Realme 5 series will come equipped with quad cameras. The Realme 3 and 3 Pro smartphones featured dual rear cameras.

Realme 5 series August 20 launch-

The microsite reveals that the primary lens of the Realme 5 series quad camera setup will have a main lens with large pixel size and large aperture. The second lens will be a ultrawide sensor with a 119-degree field-of-view. The third one is a super macro lens with a focal length of 4cm. The fourth one that is dubbed as a portrait lens that will allow bokeh effects. Here is a teaser video of the quad camera system of the Realme 5 series:

According to 91mobiles, the Realme 5 will have a 16-megapixel primary lens whereas the Realme 5 Pro will be featuring a 48-megapixel primary lens. The other specifications of the Realme 5 series are currently under wraps. However, some rumours that have surfaced so far reveals that the Realme 5 and 5 Pro phones will be sporting Dewdrop notch enabled displays, Snapdragon processors and rear-mounted fingerprint scanners. It’s unclear if the phones will come loaded with the all new RealmeOS.

Realme has recently confirmed that it will be using Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 64-megapixel sensor on one of its upcoming smartphones. It could be the more powerful Realme X Pro smartphone. While the Realme 5 and 5 Pro may go official on August 20th, the purported Realme X Pro may be announced in October. There is no information available on the pricing of Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro and Realme X Pro smartphones.
