Realme announces 55-inch SLED TV, expected to launch in India soon

Realme debuted in the Indian TV market with the launch of the Realme TV, which is an Android 9.0-based smart TV. The Realme TV was available in 32-inch and 43-inch sizes in the country. Now, the brand has announced its first premium TV offering in the country called the Realme SLED TV.

Notably, the Realme SLED TV is the world’s first to come with SLED screen technology. The SLED display technology is developed by Realme in partnership with John Rooymans who is the chief scientist of SPD Technology. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming flagship TV from the brand.

The upcoming Realme flagship TV is the world’s first SLED 4K smart TV. Realme has confirmed that the upcoming TV will be offered in 55-inch display size and will feature class-leading technologies. According to the brand, regular QLED and LED TVs uses blue backlight, which is then turned to white, while the SLED TV is designed to use RGB backlighting. This, in turn, reduces the harmful effect of the blue light. Not only does this makes the TV safer for eyes but also offers a wider colour gamut representation, as per the brand.

According to the Realme announcement, the SLED 4K TV will feature Super Colour Tone with 108 percent NTSC Ultrawide colour gamut. Additionally, the display has received  TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification for eye care. Apart from these, Realme has not revealed any other details of the upcoming smart TV at the moment. We can expect some of the features from earlier models to be retained like built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant support.

Realme SLED TV pricing and availability

The brand has not yet revealed the details of availability and pricing of the upcoming TV in India. However, earlier today, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth teased the TV in a tweet, hinting at an imminent launch.
