Realme 5i with quad rear cameras launching in India on January 9th

Realme is going to introduce its latest smartphone called the Realme 5i in Vietnam later today. In the meantime, the company has announced that the Realme 5i will be launched in India as well. The phone will arrive in the country at an event on January 9th, which will be live-streamed on the brand’s Facebook and YouTube accounts from 12:30 pm. The e-commerce portal Flipkart has also set up a microsite for the Realme 5i, which has revealed a few specifications of the device, apart from revealing its design. The website suggests that the Realme 5i will be a budget offering with a quad-camera setup at the rear.

Realme 5i specifications and features

As per Flipkart, the Realme 5i will have a waterdrop notch above the screen to house the selfie camera. The handset will have minimal bezels on the top and sides, and a slim chin. The fingerprint sensor of the smartphone will be placed in the middle at the rear. The quad primary camera setup of the handset will be placed vertically on the top-left corner.

As for the features, the listing suggests that the Realme 5i will come with a 6.5-inch display bearing unknown resolution. At the rear, the device will have an ultra-wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.8, a primary camera, a portrait lens, and a macro sensor. The smartphone will be powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the Snapdragon 665 SoC. Lastly, Flipkart has suggested that the handset will be fuelled by a beefy 5,000mAh battery.

According to the earlier reports, the Realme 5i will offer 3GB and 4GB RAM variants, which will be paired with 32GB or 64GB of storage. The screen of the handset is expected to utilise an LCD panel with HD+ resolution. At the rear, the device is said to have a 12MP main sensor, which will be aided by an 8MP secondary shooter and a couple of 2MP sensors. Software-wise, the smartphone is expected to boot Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1 out of the box.

Realme 5i price in India

As of now, there’s no word regarding the exact price tag of the Realme 5i. However, we can expect it to be priced higher than its predecessor, the Realme 3i that was introduced at the starting price of Rs 7,999.
