Realme 6 to launch in India soon, will feature a 64MP quad-camera setup

Yesterday, Realme launched its flagship smartphone, the Realme X50 Pro (first impressions). Now the brand is set to announce its upcoming phone, Realme 6 in India soon. Today, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth posted a photo of himself standing with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The image was shot on the Realme 6 as per the watermark at the bottom of the image. It also confirms that the smartphone will sport a 64MP AI quad-camera. The tweet doesn’t reveal much about the Realme 6 but hints at an imminent launch in India. The device will arrive as the successor to last year’s Realme 5.

The Realme 6 was recently spotted on shopping portal Flipkart. Later it also appeared on the WiFi Alliance website revealing key specifications. The listing revealed that the smartphone would be powered by Helio G90 processor clocked at 2.4GHz. The Helio G90 is MediaTek’s gaming processor that is paired with HyperEngine technology and is said to improve gaming and performance. The smartphone will ship with Android 10 out of the box. The Realme 6 is expected to sport an FHD+ display, a conventional fingerprint scanner, large battery with fast charging support and a USB-C port.

The Realme 6 is confirmed to come with an upgraded 64MP main camera compared to the Realme 5 which features a 12MP sensor. The details of the camera setup aren’t known at the moment.

The Realme 6 could carry a starting price tag of Rs 10,000 for the base model. It’s likely that the smartphone could be launched on March 6th alongside the brand’s first fitness band.  Additionally, Realme is also expected to announce Realme 6 Pro and Realme 6i in the lineup much like the Realme 5.

In other news, the Realme 6i was spotted earlier today on FCC with USB-C port and 18W charging.
