After being BIS certified in India, the launch of the Realme 6 smartphone seems imminent. Today, the phone has been spotted on Wi-Fi alliance, revealing some key specifications. The device’s predecessor had also received a price cut a few days ago and this might mean that the announcement of Realme 6 is in the offing. Even though the brand hasn’t overtly mentioned anything till now, the phone has surfaced multiple times online since last year. The latest leak has revealed the presence of a MediaTek chipset, Android 10 and dual-band Wi-Fi on the upcoming handset.
Realme 6 specifications and features
The Realme 6 listing shows the presence of the MediaTek MT6785T chipset, which is known as the MediaTek Helio G90 octa-core processor. The model name of the device is Realme RMX2001 6. Interestingly, the upcoming Realme 6 is the first phone to feature the MediaTek G90 chipset so far. Notably, the G90 is a different chipset than the G90T which powers the Redmi Note 8 Pro. In addition to this, the handset is likely to run Android 10 out-of-the-box. It has been revealed to feature support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands.
Coming now to what we already know about the Realme 6, the handset is expected to come with a punch-hole display. The selfie camera is likely to be placed at the top centre. The phone is also touted to be priced at RMB 1,000 (~Rs 10,000). The handset’s predecessor was priced similarly at the time of its launch. It is also probable that Realme 6 will be launched alongside the company’s first fitness band. The launch date could be between late February and early March.
