Realme launched its latest Realme 7 series in India comprising the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro in India today. The former is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G95 processor. The handset features a 90Hz IPS LCD display, 64-megapixel quad cameras, 5,000mAh battery and 30W fast charging.

Realme has priced the base variant of the Realme 7 under Rs 15,000 in India. In this price bracket, the latest launch will face the music from the likes of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro. Both these smartphones have their base variant priced lower than the Realme 7, and have a commendable spec sheet to boot. Let’s find out which of these three is worth your hard-earned money.

The Realme 7 is being offered in 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128G configurations. These models have been priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting September 10th at 12pm on Flipkart and realme.com. Realme is offering the device in Mist White and Mist Blue colours.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is also being offered in two configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. The smartphone is available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black colours. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is available from Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Homes and Mi Studios.

Lastly, the POCO M2 Pro is sold in 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB configurations. These are priced at Rs 13,999, Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. It’s available on Flipkart and can be bought in Out of the Blue, Green and Greener, and Two Shades of Black colour variants.

Coming to the display, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro are equipped with a 6.67-inch screen with FHD+ resolution and a centered punch-hole cutout. They offer a standard 60Hz refresh rate and feature a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection from scratches.

The Realme 7 comes out on top here with its 90Hz 6.5-inch IPS LCD display. The display has FHD+ resolution and also features a Corning Gorilla Glass layer for protection.

The Realme 7 is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the recently announced 12nm, octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 gaming processor. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro are both backed by the more power efficient 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. This is the same chipset powering the Realme 7 Pro as well.

The Realme 7 boots Android 10 out of the box with the Realme UI interface on the top. The other two devices run MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box. However, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features the standard MIUI interface and the POCO M2 Pro offers the POCO Launcher atop the MIUI interface.

Coming to the cameras, all three smartphones offer a quad-camera module on the back. However, the Realme 7 is the only option here with a 64-megapixel primary camera. The handset features a 64-megapixel main Sony IMX682 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, 2-megapixel BnW portrait sensor and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. The Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro offer a 48-megapixel primary camera backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, 5-megapixel macro lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor.

In the selfie department, all three smartphones are equipped with a 16-megapixel camera in the punch-hole cutout on the front.
