The Realme 8 5G smartphone is scheduled to launch at 12:30 pm on April 22nd in India. Realme has been launching 5G phones across different price points in the country. Speculations are rife that the Realme 8 5G could be one of the most affordable 5G phones from the brand.
The Realme 8 5G’s launch event will be livestreamed across the company’s social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook. At present, it is unclear whether the Realme 8 Pro 5G will also break cover alongside the Realme 8 5G. It will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart.
Realme 8 5G will be India’s first Dimensity 700 phone
Realme confirmed that the Realme 8 5G will be equipped with Dimensity 700 chipset. Currently, the Dimensity 800U powered Narzo 30 Pro by Realme is available as the cheapest 5G phone in India.
The Realme 8 5G is likely to cost less than the Narzo 30 Pro 5G, which has a starting price of Rs 16,999. The official poster released by the brand shows the Realme 8 5G sporting a punch-hole display and a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

Reports have claimed that the Realme 8 5G may arrive as a rebranded version of the Realme V13 5G, which debuted in China last month. The V13 5G has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD punch-hole screen that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an 8-megapixel front camera and a 48-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera system.
The Dimensity 700 powered V13 5G has 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The device houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. It is selling in China with a starting price of RMB 1,599 (~Rs 18,300).
