Realme 8, Realme 8 Pro launched in India: first sale date on Flipkart, launch offers

Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro smartphones have launched in India today. The devices are the successor to last year’s Realme 7 and 7 Pro. The latest offerings retain the same hardware as their predecessor.

The Realme 8 and 8 Pro flaunt a new design language compared to the Realme 7 series. The Pro variant is the brand’s first phone to come with a 108MP camera. The standard model also packs a few upgrades over its predecessor.

Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro price in India

The Realme 8 Pro is offered in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage configurations. It can be availed in Infinite Blue, Infinite Black and Illuminating Yellow (coming soon) colour options. Check the pricing of both the variants below.

Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro sale date and where to buy

The Realme 8 and 8 Pro will go on sale starting March 25th at 12pm. They can be purchased from Flipkart, Realme’s official website and offline stores.

The Realme 8 Pro features a 108MP camera

On the display front, the Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro sport a 6.4-inch punch-hole AMOLED screen bearing an FHD+ resolution. Both devices offer 1000 nits brightness, DC Dimming, and eye protection mode. The smartphones are equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. 

In the camera department, the Realme 8 Pro is equipped with a quad-camera setup comprising of a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP BnW unit and a 2MP macro shooter. The standard Realme 8’s quad-cameras feature a 64MP main sensor while the remaining setup is the same as the Pro model.  In the front, the Realme 8 series is fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper. 

The 108MP HM2 sensor on Realme 8 Pro supports 9-in-1 pixel binning, smart-ISO, and 3x in-sensor zoom. Realme has also introduced new features to the camera on both devices including tilt-shift mode, dual-view video, ultra nightscape video, new super nightscape and starry mode. The smartphone supports up to 4K video recording. 

Under the hood, the Realme 8 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 720G processor paired with Adreno 618 GPU.  On the other hand,  the Realme 8 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G95 processor. It also houses an advanced copper liquid cooling system for heat dissipation. Both smartphones pack up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. 

The Realme 8 Pro is backed by a 4,500mAh battery unit with support for a 50W SuperDart charge. The Realme 8 draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 30W Dart Charge. 

On the software front, the Realme 8 series runs Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. Connectivity options on the device include a USB-C port, 3.5mm jack, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
