Realme 8 series key specs confirmed: AMOLED displays, 50W charging and more

The Realme 8 series will be launching on March 24th in India. Ahead of the launch, the Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has been gradually revealing some of the key features of the Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro smartphones. Through new tweets, he has confirmed some of the camera features and fast charging capabilities of the Realme 8 series. Both phones will also run the latest version of Realme UI.

The Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro will be succeeding the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro smartphones from last year. The Realme 8 Pro will be arriving as the company’s first smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera.

Realme 8 Series to feature Realme UI 2.0

As can be seen in the tweet, the Realme 8 series will be the first smartphones to arrive in India with Realme UI 2.0. Reports have revealed that it will be running on Android 11. Realme UI 2.0 offers plenty of new features such as new customisations, Always-on Display themes, improved dark mode, support for third-party launchers, Deep Sea Privacy Plan for the safety of personal data and privacy, and more.

The Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro will also be flaunting S-AMOLED panels. Rumours have it both phones will be featuring a 6.4-inch displays with a punch-hole design. Both handsets are expected to carry support for Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED screens on the Realme 8 series promise improved visibility outdoors, high resolution, and improved battery life.

The Realme 8 Pro will come equipped with 2nd generation Starry Mode for capturing stars. It will be arriving as the first smartphone to offer users Starry Mode time-lapse video mode. The camera app of the Realme 8 Pro also offers an in-sensor zoom function to offer better image clarity in cropped and zoomed shots while using its 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM2 camera. A recent leak claimed that the Realme 8 Pro’s camera setup will include a 108-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The Realme 8 Pro will arrive with support for 50W SuperDart charging, which can fully charge its battery in just 47 minutes. The 8 Pro may house a 5,000mAh battery, whereas the vanilla model may feature a 4,500mAh battery with 30W charging support.
