Realme to launch world’s first Dimensity 810 phone in India, could be the Realme 8s

Realme has confirmed that it will be soon announcing the first Dimensity 810 chipset powered phone in India. Speculations suggest that the company could be teasing the arrival of the Realme 8s 5G.

To recollect, MediaTek unveiled the Dimensity 810 chip along with the Dimensity 920 SoC earlier this month. These SoCs support features like 5G connectivity, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 64-megapixel triple cameras and UFS 2.2 storage on mid-range phones. Reports have revealed that the Realme 8s will be offering premium features at an affordable price.

Realme 8s specifications and features

The Realme 8s 5G is likely to arrive with a 6.5-inch punch-hole screen that offers FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It could run Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

The Dimensity 810 SoC powered phone could feature 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of internal storage. For additional storage, it could feature a microSD card slot.

For photography, it might sport a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 64-megapixel triple camera unit. The device may house a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. For security, it is expected to offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In related news, Realme is also planning to launch the Realme 8i smartphone. A recent leak revealed that the smartphone will be sporting a 6.59-inch FHD+ screen that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to debut as the first phone powered by the Helio G96 chipset. The handset is likely to arrive with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. For photography, it may feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit.

The Realme 8s is likely to debut in September. It remains to be seen whether the Realme 8i will debut alongside it.
