Realme 8s and Realme 8i will be launching at 12.30pm on September 9th in India. The launch event will be livestreamed across Realme’s social media platforms including YouTube and Facebook. Apart from confirming the launch date, the company has also revealed some of the key specs of both smartphones. In addition, the Realme 8i has also been teased on Flipkart, confirming the availability of the phone on the e-commerce platform.
The Realme 8s 5G will be the first phone to feature the Dimensity 810 chipset, whereas the Realme 8i will be debuting as the first smartphone powered by the Helio G96 SoC. The Realme 8s and 8i will be new additions to the Realme 8 family, which already include three smartphones such as Realme 8, Realme 8 5G, and Realme 8 Pro.
Realme 8s, Realme 8i key features
Realme has confirmed that apart from featuring the Dimensity 810 chip, the Realme 8s 5G will come with the Dynamic RAM expansion (DRE) technology, which is also known as virtual or extended RAM. On the other hand, the Helio G96 powered Realme 8i will offer features like a 120Hz refresh rate display, impressive gaming performance, and DRE.
Realme 8s 5G specifications (Rumoured)
The Realme 8s 5G could feature a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It is tipped to offer Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 810 powered phone is expected to come with 6GB / 8GB of RAM.
The smartphone could run Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. It may be available in 128GB / 256GB storage options. For photography, it could feature a 16MP front camera and a 64-megapixel quad-camera unit. It may be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It is expected to sport a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Realme 8i specifications and features (expected)
The Realme 8i may feature a 6.59-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole design, FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Helio G96 powered Realme 8i is likely to offer users 4GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
For selfies, it could feature a 16-megapixel front camera, and its rear shell may house a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit. It could also offer other features like Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and fast charging support.
