Realme 8s and Realme 8i launched in India: price, specifications, launch offers

Realme 8s and Realme 8i smartphones have been launched in India today. They are the latest additions to the Realme 8 lineup that consists of a standard and Pro variant.

The Realme 8s is the industry’s first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor. On the other hand, the Realme 8i is the first Helio G96 powered phone in the country. The Realme 8s is offered in two RAM and storage configurations. It is available in Universal Blue and Universal Purple colours.

Realme 8s and Realme 8i sale date and where to buy

The Realme 8s and Realme 8i will go on sale from September 13 and 14th at 12 noon respectively. Both smartphones will be available for purchase from Flipkart,, and soon in offline stores across the country.

The Realme 8s and 8i are the first Dimensity 810 and Helio G96-powered phones respectively

The Realme 8s and Realme 8i come with 6.5-inch and 6.6-inch punch-hole displays bearing an FHD+ resolution respectively. The former features a 90Hz refresh rate while the latter comes with 120Hz with six levels of adjustment. Design-wise, both devices have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and a rectangular rear camera module. 

In the photography department, the Realme 8s and 8i feature a 16MP selfie camera. On the back, the former has a 64MP main unit while the latter packs a 50MP primary lens. The other two sensors on both devices include a 2MP BnW shooter and a 2MP macro camera. 

Under the hood, the Realme 8s houses a 5G compatible MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor whereas the Realme 8i is equipped with an Helio G96 SoC. Both smartphones pack up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. There is 5GB expandable virtual RAM technology on the latest offerings, unfortunately, the Realme 8i’s base 4GB + 64GB variant doesn’t support it. The Realme 8s and Realme 8i are backed by a 5,000mAh battery with the former supporting 33W fast charging and the latter maxing out at 18W. 

Software-wise, the Realme 8s and Realme 8i run on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. Connectivity options on both devices include a USB-C port, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
