Realme 9i has been launched in India as the first phone from the all-new Realme 9 series. Realme had recently confirmed that its number series sales have reached 40 million units. The handset has arrived as the successor to last year’s Realm 8i (review), which featured the Helio G96 chipset. The newly unveiled Realme 9i is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 6-series chipset.

The key features of the Realme 9i include a display with 90Hz refresh rate, a big battery that supports fast charging, and 50-megapixel triple cameras. As far as design is concerned, the Realme 9i offers a familiar design, which was made available on the Realme GT Neo 2 flagship device. At the front, it features a punch-hole display, while its textured rear shell has a triple camera setup housed inside a rectangle-shaped unit.

Realme 9i first sale date and where to buy

The Realme 9i will be available through an early sale at 12 pm onwards on January 22nd, 2022 through Realme India’s website and Flipkart with bank offers. The first sale of the smartphone will be carried out at 12 pm on January 25th, 2022. It will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Realme.com and through retail stores across the country

The Realme 9i has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 90Hz, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 480 nits of brightness, and a 401ppi pixel density. The display punch-hole has a 16-megapixel camera for capturing selfies and recording 30fps 1080p videos. It supports photography features such as night shot, timelapse, portrait mode, and AI beauty.The rear camera system of the Realme 9i has a triple camera unit, which features a 50-megapixel with an f/1.8 aperture as the primary camera. The main lens is coupled with a 2-megapixel B&W sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera with a 4cm focal length. The 9i supports photography features such as night shot, timelapse, slow-motion video shooting, and 30fps video recording.

The Snapdragon 680 fuels the Realme 9i with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. For additional storage, the handset offers a dedicated storage slot. The 9i comes with up to 5GB of virtual RAM for a lag-free experience while launching apps. The device runs on Android 11 OS, which has Realme UI 2.0 on top. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W rapid charging The handset offers usual connectivity features such as dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
