Realme Band with colour display and inbuilt USB charger launched in India for Rs 1,499

Realme announced the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones today. Alongside the Realme 6 series, the Chinese firm took off covers off the Realme Band as its first fitness band. Realme had first revealed the existence of its fitness band at the unveiling of Realme 5i smartphone in early January. Since then, the company had been teasing its arrival. The newly announced Realme Band has arrived in India to rival with other similarly priced fitness bands such as the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. The major highlights of the Realme Band include large curved colour display, real-time heart rate tracker, intelligent sports tracker, personalized dial face and more.

Realme Band debuts with IP68 rated body and curved display

The Realme Band comes with a curved 0.96-inch colour screen which can display 64 letters at a time. The screen supports five levels of brightness adjustment. The features of the device can be accessed using the touch-sensitive virtual button. Since the device is equipped with a gravity sensor, the screen can wake up on its own when the user lifts the wrist. The device comes preloaded with five dial faces and the company will be offering more dial faces with subsequent updates.

As can be seen in the image, the Realme Band comes in black, yellow and green coloured TPU material removable straps. The main body of the fitness tracker is made of a polymer material and it weighs only 20 grams. The IP68 rated Realme Band is a dustproof and water-resistant device.

When it comes to health-centric features, the Realme Band offers users a PPG optical heart rate sensor that can check heart rate in real-time every 5 minutes. The heart rate data is intelligently analysed by the Realme Band to provide the user with a sleep pattern report. There is Idle Alert feature onboard that will provide users with notifications to get moving.

The Realme Band comes with support for nine kinds of sport activities like yoga, running, walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, spinning, fitness and cricket. The latter offers user with detailed statistics about the activity. The other features of the Realme Band include goal setting, do not disturb mode and reminder management,

The Realme Band has a 90mAh battery that supports direct USB charging. Once charged, the device can be used for around 6-9 days. The fitness band can be paired with a smartphone using the “realme Link” app available on the Play Store. Currently, the device supports connectivity only with Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher. The Realme Band is equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity. Once paired, users can view notifications from social channels like Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok and so on apart from text messages and call alerts.

The Realme Band has arrived in India with an enticing price tag of Rs 1,499. For consumers who want to purchase it earlier, Realme is conducting a “hate-to-wait” sale” between 2pm and 4pm on its website today. The band will go on sale via Amazon, Realme’s website and offline stores starting March 9th at 12pm.
