Alongside the launch of the Realme 3 Pro today, the company has also announced a new device in the entry-level C-series dubbed as the Realme C2. It is the successor to the Realme C1 launched last year. The latest Realme C2 comes with a few upgrades compared to the previous version. Let’s take a look at what the device offers out of the box:
Technical Specifications:
On the display front, the Realme C2 features a 6.1-inch screen bearing HD+ resolution. It comes with a dewdrop notch instead of the regular notch as seen on the C1. The smartphone retains its signature diamond-cut design. It can be availed in Diamond Blue and Diamond Black colour options. On the rear, the phone features the same dual-camera setup comprising of 13MP + 2MP sensors, and a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies. The Realme C2 offers 80fps/480 ‘slow-motion’ video recording. The front camera doubles up as an AI face unlock feature in place of the absent fingerprint scanner.
In terms of hardware, the second-gen Realme C2 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset compared to the Snapdragon 450 on the C1. The processor is paired with two RAM configurations of 2GB and 3GB. The former packs 16GB inbuilt storage while the later offers 32GB internal memory. The device runs on ColorOS 6 based on the latest Android 9 Pie.
The Realme C2 is powered by a slightly smaller 4,000mAh battery unit compared to the C1’s 4,230mAh unit. The smartphone features a dual SIM slots with dual VoLTE connectivity, along with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Pricing & Availability:
The base variant of Realme C2 is priced at Rs 5,999. The 3GB + 32GB model carries a price tag of Rs 7,999. The device will go on sale on Flipkart and Realme.com starting May 15th at 12pm. Jio users can avail benefits worth Rs 5,300 on purchase of the device. The Realme C2 will also be made available offline at a later date.
