Earlier this month at the launch event of the Realme 5i, the company teased its first fitness tracker. At the time, Realme didn’t reveal when exactly its first fitness band will be launched in India. However, in the latest episode of #AskMadhav, the company’s CEO Madhav Sheth has revealed that Realme’s fitness tracking accessory will be launched in the country next month. Unfortunately, Sheth didn’t provide any specific launch date for the wearable. In addition, Sheth revealed that the VoWiFi update for Realme phones will be released later this month.
As of now, Realme hasn’t announced what its first fitness tracker will be actually called. A few images of the device were teased earlier, which suggested that the device will have a black oblong-shaped core module, which will be fitted inside a yellow coloured strap. Any other details regarding the specifications of the device are not available at the moment. It can be safely assumed that the Realme fitness tracker will be priced affordably. The wearable will be competing against the fitness bands from brands like Xiaomi, Honor, etc. which also offer such devices in the lower price bracket.
Talking about the VoWiFi update, Sheth has revealed that the brand will soon start rolling out a software update for its products, which will enable the voice over Wi-Fi calling feature. Sheth announced that the Realme X2 Pro will be the first phone to receive the VoWiFi calling feature later this month. Other Realme smartphones will be getting the same update in February and March. The VoWiFi feature will allow Realme users to make calls over Wi-Fi.
Lastly, when asked when the Realme X50 Pro smartphone will be launched in India, Sheth said that something “much more powerful” is lined up for India, and it will be unveiled at the upcoming MWC 2020.
