Realme GT 2 Pro’s three new innovative features have been confirmed. The company held a special event today to confirm that the GT 2 Pro will be world’s first smartphone to feature a bio-polymer based design. It will be the first-ever smartphone to feature a 150-degree ultrawide camera. Furthermore, it will be world’s first phone to feature Ultrawide-Band HyperSmart Antenna Switching technology for superior connectivity.

While the company shared detailed information on the above-mentioned features, it did not reveal anything on the launch date of the GT 2 series. Reports have revealed that the lineup will include the Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro. The latter will be Realme’s most powerful and advanced flagship phone driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform.

Realme has worked with a popular Japanese industrial designer named Naoto Fukasawa for designing many of its Master Edition products before. The duo has collaborated once again for designing the GT 2 Pro. Its design, which is dubbed as the “Paper Tech Master Design” is inspired by paper. Instead of using fossil raw materials that contribute to global warming, the company has used a bio-based and eco-friendly alternative called SABIC to make the back cover of the GT 2 Pro. In addition, the company has reduced the usage of plastic for the box design from 21.7 percent in the predecessor model to 0.3 percent in the upcoming GT series.

Generally, the main camera of most smartphones offer around 84-degree field-of-view (FOV) while the highest field of view offered with ultra wide-angle camera is 128-degree. Realme will be offering the world’s first 150-degree ultrawide camera on the GT 2 Pro. In order to allow users to capture images with a wider perspective, the GT 2 Pro will come with a smartphone industry-first feature called the fisheye mode for capturing shots with “ultra-long depth of field effect.”

Realme claimed that competitor phones have four network antennas, two at the top and two at the bottom sides of the phone. These antennas are blocked when the device is held in landscape orientation while gaming. Hence, users can experience a drop signal strength since they cover. The Realme GT 2 Pro is equipped with 12 wrap-around antennas that promise the same signal strength no matter how the device is held. The company said that the GT2 Pro supports 48 mainstream global brands across 150+ regions.

The ultrawide-band antenna switching technology intelligently gauges the signal strength of all the antennas and automatically selects the one with the best signal. In addition, the antenna switching technology on the GT 2 can identify weak signal areas like railway stations, subway stations, airports, underground parking, lift, college, and concert to intelligently prioritise the strongest network configuration.

For stable Wi-Fi connectivity, the Realme GT 2 Pro, which carries support for Wi-Fi 6E comes with a feature called Wi-Fi Enhancer. Regular smartphones have asymmetrical Wi-Fi antenna design, but the GT 2 Pro promises up to 20 percent improved Wi-Fi connectivity since it uses a symmetrical Wi-Fi antenna design. In addition, the GT 2 Pro will offer other Wi-Fi related features like dual Wi-Fi network acceleration, 5G and Wi-Fi network overlay, and dual SIM and Wi-Fi multi-network intelligent switching.

The company claims that the entire upper portion of the GT 2 Pro senses NFC signals in either direction, facilitating the use of NFC for swiping cards.
