Realme GT, Realme GT Neo India launch date teased

The Realme GT series is now expected to launch in early May in India. This has been hinted at by the Realme’s Chief Marketing Officer, Francis Wong during a QnA session with the Realme community. When he was asked by a community member about the device that he has been using as a daily driver, the CMO responded by saying, “I wish I could tell you the device I am using, it is our next flagship, and it will launch as part of our 3rd-anniversary celebration. Just wait for it.”

The Realme brand was introduced in India on May 4th, 2018. There is a possibility that Wong could be hinting at the arrival of the Realme GT 5G flagship for India. It may get announced in early May in celebration of the 3rd anniversary of the brand.

Realme GT and Realme GT Neo may launch in India next month


The Realme GT 5G flagship features a 120Hz display and Snapdragon 888 chip

The Realme GT 5G flagship phone was announced in January in China. Last month, the company unveiled the Realme GT Neo in its home market. Both handsets have received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently. In addition, Realme India CMO Madhav Sheth teased the arrival of a Dimensity 1200 chipset powered handset in India. The teaser also hinted at the arrival of GT Neo in India.

Realme GT and GT Neo specifications and price

The Realme GT and Realme GT Neo are equipped with 6.43-inch displays that offers Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones have an in-screen fingerprint reader for security.

The GT is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and LPDDR5 RAM, whereas the GT Neo gets the Dimensity 1200 SoC and LPDDR4x RAM. Both phones offer UFS 3.1 storage and they run Realme UI based on Android 11.

The Realme GT and GT Neo have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and they are fitted with a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system. Both phones have a 4,500mAh battery. The Realme GT supports 65W fast charging, whereas the GT Neo model comes with 50W fast charging.

The Realme GT has a starting price of RMB 2,799 (~Rs 31,800) in China, whereas the GT Neo starts at RMB 1,799 (~$20,450).
