Right after the Snapdragon 888 processor was announced, Realme announced that they will launch a smartphone with the latest chipset soon. The device has been doing the rounds of the internet for a while now with its codename, Race. Realme has now officially announced the name of the upcoming device without revealing anything else.
Realme Koi flagship device with Snapdragon 888 coming Q1 2020
Realme took to Weibo to announce the Koi moniker of the upcoming smartphone. In fact, Realme went to an extra measure and made a dedicated Weibo page for the upcoming flagship smartphone. As of now, the Realme Koi’s dedicated handle only has a promotional poster listed on it.
Speaking of the poster, it doesn’t reveal much. Apart from Realme’s tagline, there are two koi fishes in vibrant colours. We can safely assume that the upcoming flagship will come in vibrant paintjobs. Additionally, there’s a Chinese text on the poster, which loosely translates to ‘The beginning of the new year, stay tuned.’ This hints that the smartphone will probably be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
Earlier this month, GSMArena shared two leaked images of the alleged Realme Race smartphone showcasing the back panel and the ‘About Phone’ section of the upcoming phone. The screenshot revealed details like Snapdragon 888, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, Android 11 OS, and Realme UI 2.0.
