Realme Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A launch in India postponed due to coronavirus lockdown

On: March 25, 2020

Recently we reported that Realme will unveil its new Narzo series of smartphones via a pre-recorded video at 12.30pm on March 26th. Today, the smartphone maker has officially postponed the launch of Narzo 10 and 10A, as well as all upcoming launches. The announcement was made by CEO Madhav Sheth on Twitter. The move comes as a result of 21-day country-wide lockdown to fight the coronavirus outbreak. Additionally, Realme had said that it will put current stocks on hold and halt its ‘Make in India’ facility until further government notice. It’s unknown when the brand will release new smartphones.

Realme’s decision to suspend upcoming launches hardly comes as a surprise, since Vivo also decided to do the same yesterday. Samsung and OPPO have also temporarily shut down their factories in India. Meanwhile, the shopping platform Amazon has restricted online orders to only essential products that may be needed during the lockdown period.

The Realme Narzo 10 series had appeared on the brand’s official website and e-commerce portal Flipkart revealing key specifications. The Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A are confirmed to feature a 6.5-inch display with a waterdrop notch and offering 89.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. Both devices will be powered by a gaming-centric processor. A 5,000mAh battery fitted inside will keep the Narzo 10 smartphones running. On the imaging front, the Narzo 10A will sport a triple-camera setup while the Narzo 10 is confirmed to come with a quad-camera featuring a 48MP f/1.8 main sensor. The landing page doesn’t reveal rear-mounted fingerprint scanner indicating that the phones could come with an under-display or side-mounted scanner.

This is everything we know about Narzo 10 at the moment. It is expected to be positioned below the Realme 6 series. In other news, Realme announced that it will not pass on the GST hike to users with its Narzo series as the company has decided to absorb the cost. The price of the devices will not be increased in April, the company told IANS.
