Realme Q is a rebranded Realme 5 Pro for China

On August 20th, Realme had announced the Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5 handsets in India. Today, the Chinese firm held a launch event in China to announce the Realme Q as the first phone in its Q-series. It is rebranded version of the Realme 5 Pro for the Chinese market.

Realme Q Price and Availability

The Realme Q has launched in three variants in China – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. They are priced at 998 Yuan (~Rs 10,000), 1,198 Yuan (~Rs 12,000) and 1,498 Yuan (~Rs 15,000) respectively. Light Blue and Light Green are the two gradient colour variants of Realme Q. The pre-orders of the phone have started in China and its first sale will take place on September 9th.

Realme Q Specifications and Features

The Realme Q measures 157 x 74.2 x 8.9mm and it weighs 184 grams. It has a waterdrop notch enabled 6.3-inch LCD panel that offers full HD+ resolution. It offers a screen to body ratio of 90.6 percent. The Snapdragon 712 fuels the smartphone along with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It offers up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is a microSD card slot for additional storage.

The Realme Q houses a 4,035mAh battery. The phone supports a 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charging technology. Android 9 Pie comes preloaded on the device along with ColorOS 6.1.

The quad camera system of the Realme Q features Sony IMX586 48-megapixel main lens with f/1.7 aperture and PDAF, an 8-megapixel superwide lens with 119-degree field-of-view and f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel portrait lens and 2-megapixel macro camera with 4cm focal length. The quad camera system offers 10x digital zoom support, intelligent scene recognition, super night scene mode, 4K 30fps video recording and 960fps slow-motion recording. For shooting selfies, it has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixels with f/2.0 aperture, AI beauty and smart HDR.

A fingerpint scanner is placed on the rear shell of the Realme Q phone. The connectivity features that are available on the smartphone include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
