Realme is quickly expanding its presence in India by venturing into new categories. After launching its first smart band, the Realme Band (review) a month ago, the company is also working on its first smartwatch and smart TV. While CEO Madhav Sheth has been teasing the smartwatch lately, giving us a basic insight into what to expect in terms of design, there has been no such luck with the TV. However, a BIS listing recently revealed the screen size of the television along with its model number.

According to a screenshot from the BIS certification site, the device is called the Realme TV 43, referring to its 43-inch screen size. The image further reveals the model number, which is JSC55LSQL. There is no word on whether this is a sole variant, or if Realme plans to introduce a variety of screen sizes. Additional information is expected within the next few weeks, as the smart TV is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2020.
In related news, the Realme smartwatch was spotted on an episode of #AskMadhav on YouTube, which aired during the last week of March. According to the CEO, the smartwatch “would be made official for India soon”. Unfortunately, that is all the information we have about the device at the moment. However, experts believe that the Realme Watch will draw heavy inspiration from the recently-unveiled OPPO Watch. If that is anything to go by, the Realme smartwatch could feature a square dial with a black band.
Realme has also joined the list of brands including Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO and Apple by increasing the prices of its smartphones, following the rise of the GST rate from 12 percent to 18 percent. As a result, Realme smartphones in India have seen a price hike, and future devices are expected to be more expensive as well.
