Realme V5 launching in China on August 3rd, specifications revealed

Last week, Realme confirmed that it would soon be launching the Realme V5 as its first V-series smartphone. Yesterday, the company confirmed that the Realme V5 would be made official on August 3rd in China. Ahead of the launch, the Realme V5 has been listed alongside its complete specifications and colour variants on a Chinese retail site.

The listing confirms that the Realme V5 is fueled by the Dimensity 720 5G chipset. It has a punch-hole display on the front and a 48-megapixel quad camera setup on its back. It is likely to debut as one of the most affordable 5G phones in China.

The Realme V5 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that offers FHD+ resolution. The punch-hole screen features a selfie camera of 16-megapixels. The rectangular camera housing on its back has a 48-megapixel main camera, accompanied by an 8-mgeapixel and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors. The smartphone boots Android 10.

The Dimensity 720 powered Realme V5 will be available in variants like 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage in the homeland. The Realme V5 has a 5,000mAh battery that comes with 30W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It will be launched in China in three gradient colour options – silver, black, and blue.

Realme V5 pricing and availability

Currently, the Realme X50m 5G that starts at RMB 1,399 (~Rs 21,350) is the most affordable Realme phone with 5G support in China. The Realme V5 will be priced lower than the Realme X50m 5G. According to a reliable tipster, the Realme V5 could be priced around 1,300 RMB (~Rs 19,450) in China.
