Realme X and Realme 5 Pro receive Android 10 update with Realme UI

Realme has announced the rollout of the latest Android 10 update to its Realme X and Realme 5 Pro devices. The brand had promised this rollout and for a few days now, Indian consumers have been getting the notification for an upcoming update. The company has introduced Realme UI to the said phones along with Android 10. The update is 3.51GB in size and comes bearing the build number RMX1901EX_11_C.01 and RMX1971_EX_11_C.01 for the Realme X and Realme 5 Pro, respectively. The next in line to receive these updates are the Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro. The beta version of Android 10 and Realme UI are already available for these devices.

One of the main features of this update is Personal Information Protection which feeds empty personal data to apps and pages. This way, it saves a user’s call history, contacts and messages from platforms that need them to function and serves them the empty data instead.

The Realme X is equipped with a 6.53-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. It relies on the Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. The device features an Adreno 616 GPU and comes with a dual rear camera setup. The configuration includes a 48MP primary lens paired up with a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, the phone features a pop-up 16MP camera.

In terms of security, it hosts an under-display fingerprint reader while a 3,765mAh battery keeps things running. The Realme X supports VOOC 3.0 Fast Charging and USB Type-C along with reversible charging. The phone starts at Rs 14,999 and comes in Space Blue and Polar White colours.

The Realme 5 Pro, on the other hand, sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. It features Gorilla Glass 5 protection and features a waterdrop notch on top. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 octa-core processor with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The device features quad-cameras in a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP setup while a selfie camera of 16MP resides in the notch. There is a physical fingerprint sensor available on the back panel while the phone houses a 4,035mAh battery with support for USB Type-C and VOOC 3.0 Fast Charging.

The device starts at Rs 11,999 and comes in Sparkling Blue and Crystal Green colour variants.
