Fast charging has revolutionised the way we use smartphones, juicing up a significant percentage of battery in a matter of minutes. OnePlus‘ 30W Warp Charge technology has been considered among the best in the business. However, brands like Huawei offer 40W fast charging on the Mate 30 Pro flagship, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ supports 45W fast charging speeds. Now, things are about to change as Realme’s upcoming flagship, the Realme X2 Pro offers blazing-fast 50W fast charging with the bundled charger. We received the X2 Pro ahead of launch, and decided to put the fast charging tech to the test.
Realme X2 Pro 50W Super VOOC charging test
Realme claims that its 50W Super VOOC fast charger can fully charge the X2 Pro’s 4,000mAh battery in 35 minutes. After completely draining the phone’s battery, we plugged in the charger, and were in for a surprise as the phone managed to juice up 11 percent of the battery in just two minutes, and 56 percent in 13 minutes. The phone took just short of 30 minutes to charge fully to 100 percent. This is an even better result than Realme’s own claim.
We also compared the Realme X2 Pro’s charging speeds to the OnePlus 7T (review). For reference, the OnePlus 7T features a smaller 3,800mAh battery, and ships with a 30W Warp Charger in the box. In our test, the phone charged to 68 percent in 30 minutes, while getting to 100 percent took 57 minutes. Needless to say, the Realme X2 Pro is miles ahead in terms of charging speeds.
With 30 minutes on the clock to charge the Reame X2 Pro completely, the Super VOOC 50W charging technology is indeed the best you can get in the market as of now. We’ll be testing the phone thoroughly over the coming week to see how it fares on performance and cameras, so stay tuned for our review.
