Realme X2 Pro with 90Hz display and Snapdragon 855+ launched in China: price, specifications

The Realme X2 Pro has debuted today in China as the company’s first flagship phone. The company has also unveiled the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition alongside it. As the company had confirmed through recent teasers, the Realme X2 Pro is packed with top-end features like a display with a 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, a big battery with 50W fast charging technology and 64-megapixel quad rear cameras.

The Realme X2 Pro features an 3D curved glass rear. It houses a 6.5-inch S-AMOLED display with waterdrop notch that is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The display features full HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut, 1,000 nits brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with in-display fingerprint reader that can unlock the device in just 0.23 seconds.

The phone features a 16-megapixel selfie snapper that supports 4-in-1 pixel binning technology for capturing brighter selfies in low-light conditions. It also supports portrait super night scene.  The back panel of the Realme X2 Pro has a quad camera system that features Samsung’s ISOCELL GW1 64-megapixel lens with f/1.8 aperture as the primary sensor. It is assisted by an f/2.5 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 20x hybrid zoom support and an 8-megapixel superwide lens with f/2.2 aperture, which can also shoot macro shots as close as 2.5cm. A 2-megapixel depth sensor is also available. The rear cameras support super night scene mode, EIS, 4K video recording at 30fps and 960fps slow-motion video shooting.

The Realme X2 Pro is powered by the latest 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855+ octa-core processor and up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes in 64GB (UFS 2.1) 128GB (UFS 3.0) and 256GB (UFS 3.0) storage choices. There is no microSD card slot on the device.

Android 9 Pie runs on the device, with ColorOS 6.1 on top. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that is coupled with 50W SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology. According to the company, the new charging technology can completely charge the device in just 35 minutes. For heat dissipation, the smartphone features vapour chamber liquid cooling with superconducting fiber and multi-layer graphite sheet. Completing the specs sheet of the Realme X2 Pro are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 2×2 MIMO, dual frequency GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition is designed by popular Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, who had also crafted the Realme X Master Editions. The handset is expected to come in multiple colours, with Brick Red and Cement Gray editions going on sale first in the coming month. The signature of the designer is imprinted on the rear side of the device. The specs of the Master Edition are identical to its regular version, but it comes in a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

Realme India has already confirmed that the Realme X2 Pro will be launching in December in India. It is expected to go official along with the Realme XT 730G smartphone.

Realme X2 Price and Availability

In China, the Realme X2 Pro has arrived in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 2,599 (~Rs 26,200), RMB 2,799 (~Rs 28,200) and RMB 3,199 (~Rs 32,200). The smartphone is now up for pre-orders in China and its first sale will be held on October 18th. The two colour variants are Ocean Blue and Midnight Silver.

The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition is priced at RMB 3,199 (~Rs 32,200) and it will be available on November 11th. The smartphone can be bought in two colours – Brick Red and Cement Gray.
