Realme had launched the X2 Pro flagship in China last month. At the time, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth had revealed via a tweet that the company will bring the smartphone to India in December. However, Realme decided to move up the launch in India, and has unveiled the device at an event held in New Delhi. Prior to the launch, the smartphone was teased on the brand’s Twitter account. The X2 Pro is the company’s first flagship device with powerful specifications and a competitive price tag. The specifications of the India variant are similar to the one announced in China. Realme X2 Pro specifications and features
Beginning with the display, the Realme X2 Pro boasts of a 6.5-inch screen fitted with a Super AMOLED panel. There is a waterdrop notch on top, and the device offers a 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Realme X2 Pro features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth animations and also supports HDR10+. The display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Design-wise, the Realme X2 Pro sports a metal and glass unibody design. The smartphone’s back panel flaunts a 3D curved glass design. It houses a vertically stacked quad-camera setup located in the centre. The back panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5 against accidental damages and scratches. The Realme X2 Pro is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The smartphone can be availed in Lunar White and Neptune Blue colour options.
In the optics department, the Realme X2 Pro’s quad-camera setup comprises of a 64MP Samsung GW1 main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with 115-degree field of view, a 13MP telephoto lens and 2MP portrait camera. Both the front and rear cameras make use of a 4-in-1 pixel binning mechanism to capture better images in low light. The telephoto lens offers up to 20x hybrid zoom and 5x hybrid optical zoom support. In the front, the Realme X2 Pro is fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper backed by AI features and Selfie Nightscape mode. In terms of video, the Realme X2 Pro offers 4K and slow-mo video recording with its inbuilt anti-shake algorithm and highly sensitive gyroscope. Both the cameras support EIS video stabilisation.
Under the hood, the Realme X2 Pro houses the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855+ chipset. It is paired with an Adreno 640 GPU. The smartphone is available in two RAM and storage configurations up to 12GB and 256GB respectively. The device doesn’t come with support for expandable memory. It is equipped with vapour chamber liquid cooling for heat dissipation. On the software front, the Realme X2 Pro runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 skinned on top.
The Realme X2 Pro draws its power from a 4,000mAh battery with support for 50W SuperVOOC flash charging. The new charging technology can fully charge the device in just 30 minutes. Connectivity-wise, the Realme X2 Pro features a 4×4 MIMO antenna, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Realme X2 Pro price in India
Realme has priced the base variant of the X2 Pro i.e. 8GB + 128GB at Rs 29,999. The higher-end 12GB + 256GB model carries a price tag of Rs 33,999. These variants will be available in Lunar White and Neptune Blue colour options. There’s another model of the handset called the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition that comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and is being offered in Red Brick and Concrete colour variants. This model is priced at Rs 34,999 and it will go on sale during Christmas.
The company will hold an early-access sale of the Realme X2 Pro on November 26th on Flipkart, Realme.com, and in retail stores. Notably, the handset ships with a free 50W fast charger. The brand is offering data benefits worth Rs 11,500 for Jio users as part of the launch offer. In addition, those who purchase the device during the first sale will get a free pair of Realme Buds wireless earphones.
At this price tag, the Realme X2 Pro is the cheapest smartphone with 90Hz display, Snapdragon 855+ SoC, and a 64MP quad-camera setup. It will compete against the likes of Redmi K20 Pro, OnePlus 7T and more.
