Realme X3 5G images and specs spotted on TENAA: dual punch-hole display, 48MP quad cameras and more

Realme launched its mid-range offering called the Realme X2 in India in December last year. The affordable smartphone from the brand flaunted a Hyperbola 3D glass back panel, a metal frame, a quad-camera setup on the back, and an under-display fingerprint sensor as its key highlights. The smartphone was also the first from the brand to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G processor in India. Now, the brand seems to be working on its successor called the Realme X3, which reports suggest could launch as the Realme X50 Youth/Lite Edition in China. A mysterious smartphone with the model number RMX2142 has been spotted on the TENAA certification website and it’s believed to be the upcoming Realme X3/ X50 Youth or Lite Edition. Here’s everything that the TENAA listing has revealed including the renders and key specifications.

Realme X3 5G images spotted on TENAA

The images reveal a glass-clad smartphone with a blue paint job and gradient finish on the back. We can see that the handset will feature the signature Realme design with a vertical quad-camera module and an LED flash beside it. The front of the display doesn’t reveal much except for the pill-shaped dual punch-hole cutout on the top, so we can safely assume that the display will feature 20:9 aspect ratio and edge-to-edge panel. The left edge seems to be housing the volume keys, whereas, on the right side there is a power button, which is slightly indented. We can expect the fingerprint scanner to be embedded in the power button. This is all that can be figured out from the images on the certification website.

Realme X3 5G specifications and features

Coming to the specifications, the Realme X3 5G will be powered by a 2.4GHz chipset and will be offered in three RAM variants — 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB, and three storage options – 64GB,128GB, and 256GB. While the listing doesn’t reveal the make of the processor, it does mention that the smartphone will feature both SA and NSA 5G bands, which means it’s one of the latest processors. There have been rumours that the smartphone will either be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1000 or the  Snapdragon 765G. On the display front, the smartphone will feature a 6.57-inch TFT panel with a screen resolution of 2,400 × 1,080 pixels. The handset will boot Android 10 (presumably with Realme UI on top) and a 4,100mAh battery.

Coming to cameras, the smartphone will feature a 48-megapixel primary camera on the back accompanied by an 8-megapixel secondary ultra wide-angle camera, and twin 2-megapixel cameras. The punch-hole cutout on the front features a 16-megapixel lens backed by a secondary depth sensor.
