In November, Realme China had confirmed that its first 5G phone would be the Realme X50 5G. At the time, the company had also released a poster that confirmed that the device would feature a pill-shaped cutout at the top-left corner of the display for the dual front-facing cameras. Earlier this month, the company also confirmed that it will come equipped with the Snapdragon 765G mobile platform that will bring support for dual-mode 5G connectivity. Reports surrounding the phone have claimed that it will go official in January 2020. Now, Realme CMO Xu Qi has released a teaser on Weibo to hint that the launch date of the phone is around 20 days away. Today, a reliable tipster from China shared some vital details on the specs and also confirmed that the phone has bagged an important certification in China.
Realme X50 5G launch date
In the above shown screengrab of a Weibo post, Xu Qi has claimed that the Realme X50 5G press conference is only _ _ days away. A careful look at the image shared by him shows the number 20 mentioned on the wall that can be seen in between the displays of the two treadmills. Hence, the rumor mill is speculating that Realme X50 launch date could be 20 days away. Since the post was published on December 16th, it seems that Realme may hold a launch event on January 5th.
Realme X50 5G specifications
A Chinese tipster has revealed that a mysterious phone from Realme with the RMX2051 model number has received approval from CMIIT agency in China. Since it is a 5G-ready phone, it appears to be the upcoming Realme X50 5G. Unfortunately, the CMIIT certification has not revealed any information on the specifications of the Realme X50 5G smartphone.
The tipster has claimed that the Realme X50 5G has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD dual punch-hole display. If this rumour is true, it will be the first X-series Realme phone to sport an LCD panel as predecessor phones have all featured AMOLED displays.
The Snapdragon 765 powered phone will be fitted with a 64-megapixel quad camera setup. It is yet to be ascertained whether it features a Sony IMX686 or Samsung GW1 sensor. The phone’s battery will support 30W fast charging technology.
The rumoured specs of the Realme X50 5G suggests that it is worthy rival to the Redmi K30 5G that was unveiled last week in China. The RMB 1,999 (~Rs. 20,300) priced Redmi K30 5G will be releasing in China in January 2020. At the time of writing, there is no word on the release date and pricing of Realme X50 5G.
