After teasing the Realme X50 smartphone for several weeks, the company has today finally launched the smartphone at an event in China. The phone has arrived as the brand’s first smartphone with support for the next-gen high-speed 5G networks. The Realme X50 is also the phone maker’s first offering to flaunt Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 765G processor as well as a pill-shaped module on the screen to house two selfie shooters. As announced by the brand earlier, the Realme X50 also comes with a quad primary camera module on the back and fast charging support.
Realme X50 specifications and features
Talking about the design first, the Realme X50 offers almost non-existent bezels thanks to the pill-shaped hole for the selfie cameras. The quad-camera module of the handset is located towards the top-left corner. At the rear, the phone has a premium glass back panel, and on the right side, you have a fingerprint sensor. On the front, the Realme X50 has a 6.57-inch display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.4 percent. Notably, the smartphone flaunts a high screen refresh rate of 120Hz, which will provide smoother scrolling and animations and an improved gaming experience.
Moving on to the other specs, the Realme X50 comes in three RAM and storage variants – 8GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. Software-wise, the smartphone boots ColorOS 7, which is based on Android 10 and comes with the brand’s own user interface. In the camera department, the Realme X50 has a 64MP Samsung GW1 primary camera on the back. The main sensor is aided by a 12MP telephoto lens that offers up to 20x hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. In the front, the handset has a 16MP main selfie camera, which is aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Lastly, a 4,500mAh battery with a whopping 30W fast charging support completes the list of the smartphone.
Realme X50 price and availability
The Realme X50’s variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage has been priced at RMB 2,499 (~Rs 25,800). The 6GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models cost RMB 2,699 (~Rs 27,850) and RMB 2,999 (~Rs 30,950) respectively. There’s another variant of the handset called the Realme X50 Masters Edition, which comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This model costs RMB 3,099 (~Rs 32,000). The phone will go on sale in China from January 14th.
