The Realme X50 Pro 5G (first impressions) has been launched and the smartphone is the first in India to have 5G capability. The company was in competition with iQOO to introduce the first 5G-enabled handset. In addition to its 5G capability, the Realme X50 Pro sports interesting features like a flagship processor, fast charging, dual selfie cameras and a quad-camera configuration. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 37,999 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs 39,999 for 8GB of RAM + 128GB internal storage variant. The top-end variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage costs Rs 44,999. Let’s delve into some details and discuss the handset’s top five features.

The first phone in India to feature 5G and Wi-Fi 6

The Realme X50 Pro 5G phone is equipped with a second-generation X55 modem. The phone can provide a download speed of up to 3.45 Gbps and an upload speed of up to 900 Mbps. The device plays host to over 13 antennas and a 360-degree Surround Antenna feature can help it choose the one which provides optimum speed at the moment. In addition to this, the device supports all mainstream 5G bands including n1, n41, n78 and n79. In terms of connectivity, it hosts Wi-Fi 6 with Dual Channel Network Acceleration and Dual Wi-Fi Network Acceleration. The two features help in ensuring a stable network connection while the Wi-Fi 6 can download files with a speed of up to 1.5 Gbps.

The first phone to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

Another feather in the newly-launched handset’s cap is the latest Qualcomm processor under its hood. The Realme X50 Pro 5G sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor that is built on a 7nm process and is clocked at 2.84GHz. To support the chipset, the device offers three variants – 6GB LPDDR5 RAM + 128GB UFS 3.0 storage, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM + 128GB UFS 3.0 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. To keep the temperature in check, the device houses a Vapour Chamber Cooling System for heat dissipation.

64MP quad-cameras

The quad-camera set-up on the phone is arranged in a vertical fashion on the left-hand side. The configuration includes a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultrawide lens that also serves as a macro lens, a 13MP telephoto shooter and a 2MP BnW portrait sensor. The telephoto lens comes with support for 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom. The SAT Zoom technology present on the phone helps in switching between image and video mode. Features like  Nightscape 3.0, portrait mode, HDR, EIS and video stabilisation are also available. The camera set up also supports the RAW image format. On the front, the handset features a dual selfie camera setup with a 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor and 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

Android 10 based Realme UI

The newly-launched offering boots Android 10 out of the box. It runs Realme’s custom UI on top. The phone sports minimum bloatware and it can be uninstalled according to user’s convenience. Realme launched its C3 smartphone with Android 10 earlier in February, which was the first handset from the brand to launch with the latest Android version. The Realme X50 Pro 5G also plays host to features including a system-wide dark mode, digital wellbeing, app cloner, game space and more.

65W Fast Charging support and 90Hz refresh rate

The Realme X50 Pro 5G houses a 4,200mAh battery unit with support for 65W SuperDart Fast Charging. The SuperDart technology can provide over 100 minutes of video watching, up to 4 hours of voice calling and 40 songs playback in three minutes of charging.

Another interesting feature that the phone houses a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED with a dual punch-hole design. The display hosts a 90Hz refresh rate, 92 percent screen-to-body ratio, 1,000 nits of brightness, a Bluelight filter and HDR 10+ support.
