The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has been launched in Malaysia. The handset succeeds the Redmi 9 from last year. As compared to its predecessor, the Redmi 10 offers a high refresh rate display, a better chipset, and an upgraded photography experience.

The company has confirmed that the Redmi 10 will is equipped with features like a 90Hz refresh rate display, an AI-driven 50-megapixel quad-camera system, the Helio G88 chip, and a massive battery with fast charging support. The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. It offers Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a Gorilla Glass 3 protection. For selfies, it has an 8MP front camera.

Its back panel features a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The power button available on the right edge of the device doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 10 is the first-ever phone to feature the Helio G88 chipset. The device offers up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. It also supports 9W reverse charging.

The device runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. It offers other features like dual speakers for stereo output, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR blaster, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Redmi 10 price and availability

In Malaysia, the Redmi 10  4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants are priced at RM 649 (~Rs 11,300) and RM 749 (~Rs 13,000), respectively. The device comes in three colours such as Carbon Grey, Pebble White, and Sea Blue.

While the Redmi 10 is expected to launch in India, there is no official confirmation yet on its arrival. The Redmi 10 Prime’s Indian variant was spotted at the IMEI database recently. Hence, India is expected to receive both Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 Prime in the coming months.
