The Redmi 10 Prime has launched in India today. It has arrived as the successor to last year’s Redmi 9 Prime with significant upgrades. Notably, the latest offering is a rebranded Redmi 10 that debuted in global markets last month. However, the Indian variant comes with slightly different specifications.

Alongside the launch of Redmi 10 Prime, the Xiaomi sub-brand has also announced Redmi Earbuds 3 Pro TWS earphones. The Redmi 10 Prime falls in sub-Rs 15,000 price segment and competes against the likes of the Realme Narzo 30, POCO M3 Pro 5G, and others in the market.

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime comes with significant improvements over its predecessor

Beginning with the display, the Redmi 10 Prime sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and a 90Hz Adaptive refresh rate. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. Design-wise, the back panel has a rectangular camera module that looks similar to the Redmi Note 10 series. 

In the photography department, the Redmi 10 Prime comes with a quad-camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth shooter. The device is fitted with an 8MP front-facing camera. The smartphone packs various features like night mode, pro colour mode, slow-mo, timelapse, palm shutter mode, and more.

Internally, the Redmi 10 Prime is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor. It packs up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for further storage expansion up to 512GB. There is also a virtual RAM extension up to 2GB and HyperEngine Game technology 2.0. The smartphone is backed by a 6,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W fast charging and 9W reverse charging. Xiaomi is also bundling a 22.5W charger in the box. 

Software-wise, the Redmi 10 Prime runs on MIUI 12.5 based on the latest Android 11. Connectivity options on the Redmi 10 Prime include a USB-C port, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, IR Blaster, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
