Redmi 10 Prime has been launched in India as the lightest smartphone with a 6,000mAh battery from the brand. The company has been hyping the launch, with the official Twitter handle of the brand as well as the top executives teasing the launch of the smartphone with a cryptic prime numbers code before revealing some of the key features of the smartphone. Among its key features, the phone will be the first device to ship with the Helio G88 chipset in India.

Based on the specs confirmed by Redmi, there are speculations that the smartphone will be a rebrand of the Redmi 10 that was launched earlier this month globally. The Redmi 10 Prime has gone official in the country. The launch event was live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of the brand as well as the social media handles.

Redmi 10 Prime: price in India

The Redmi 10 Prime has been launched in two storage configurations in India. The base variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, whereas the top-end model features 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone can be purchased in Phantom Black, Astral White, and Bitfrost Blue colours. Customers who purchase the Redmi 10 Prime with an HDFC Bank card will get an instant discount of Rs 750. MediaTek Helio G88 SoC

Redmi 10 Prime is the first smartphone in the country to come with the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. The processor is basically an overclocked MediaTek Helio G87 with a 2.2Ghz clock speed. The phone is being offered in two configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB.

High refresh rate display

Redmi 10 Prime comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout. The display sports a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate, which means it syncs according to the content on the screen.

Powerful Cameras

The Redmi 10 Prime is the first smartphone under Rs 15,000 to offer a quad-camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor. The primary camera is backed by an 8MP wide-angle lens, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth shooter. On the front, the punch-hole cutout is housing an 8MP selfie camera.

6,000mAh battery

The Redmi 10 Prime is the lightest smartphone from the brand to come with a 6,000mAh battery. The battery comes with support for 18W fast charging and there’s also reverse charging support.

The Redmi 10 Prime comes with a dedicated microSD card slot with support for up to 512GB expandable storage. There’s also support for Dynamic Ram Expansion up to 2GB and HyperEngine Game technology 2.0. The smartphone boots MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, IR Blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
