As teased last week, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi entered a new product category with the launch of power banks. The company announced the products earlier today alongside the Redmi 8A Dual smartphone. Xiaomi already offers power banks in India under Mi branding. Redmi’s new power banks come in two battery capacities – 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh. The remaining technical specifications of both power banks remain the same. They also carry affordable price tags. Let’s take a look at both devices below.
Redmi power bank specifications and features
Starting with the design, both the Redmi power banks can be availed in Black and White colour options. The new power banks come in a brick-like shape and with an anti-slip texture for a better grip. There is also an LED charging indicator. The accessories are equipped with 12-layer circuit protection against overheating and short-circuiting.
The Redmi power banks pack a Lithium Polymer battery inside that ensures safety and better efficiency compared to Li-ion ones. Connectivity-wise, the power banks feature two USB-A output ports as well as micro-USB and Type-C input ports. While the 10,000mAh variant offers 10W charging, the larger 20,000mAh model supports two-way 18W fast charging. The Redmi power bank also comes with a low-power mode feature that is used to charge devices like a Bluetooth headset or a fitness band. Users can activate it by double-tapping the power button.
Redmi power bank price in India
The 10,000mAh Redmi power bank is priced at Rs 799, while the 20,000mAh variant will retail at Rs 1,499. They will be available for purchase from February 18th via mi.com and Mi Home stores across the country.
